Arabesque Placemat
Among the most famous figures of classical dance is the arabesque, one of the most representative symbols of the grace and elegance of the dancers ☆
“ Arabesque ”, in fact, was the term used in 18th century France to indicate ancient decorations of Latin inspiration, reinvented starting from the 15th century by many artists, including Raphael and Pinturicchio. The basic concept of arabesques consisted above all in the desire to introduce something new into the pictorial world, contrasting an innovative, imaginative, almost imperfect style with the typical mannerisms of the previous artistic period.
This new philosophy of thought was also adapted to the field of dance. New figures were thus introduced, incarnating the concept of freedom and breaking traditional patterns .
